Test

Just testing this out. I like blogs, and I figured I'd make one to follow my FFXI story.

Yep, about a year ago I got the JP POL version from a friend (SE lets you install JP POL for free if you can get it yourself), and that connects you to the Japanese FFXI server. And when you do that, it launches your FFXI in Japanese. There are a lot of BBS you should visit before trying to install a JP version.

Downside to non-JP speakers is that the whole FFXI you play is in Japanese. The menu is in japanese, the {autotranslate} you see is in Japanese, even battle spam is all in Japanese. So, if you don't speak the language, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you don't install the JP FFXI.

An alternative is the new Windower version (you can google it) which lets you type in Japanese symbols. I don't use it, so I don't know how it works. Find out from some friends.

And keep working on that blog! As soon as you get it up and running (with regular updates), I'll add your link! :D

Thanks, I'll be working on it tonight. Christmas vacation started about 2 hours ago. I feel liberated!

I want to learn Japanese, but I have a long way to go. I do use the Japanese IME you spoke of to type in Japanese during the game, but I recognize very few characters at the moment and only know simple words. I'm working on it, though.
